Die größte amerikanische Bank, BoA, hat offenbar hunderte Domainnamen aufgekauft, die man nutzen könnte, um sich über sie lustig zu machen:
"Company defensively registers hundreds of domain names for its senior
executives and board members.
As Bank of American awaits a possible release of information from WikiLeaks, it wants to ensure that you don’t think its executives suck. Or blow for that matter.
The company has been aggressively registering domain names including its Board of Directors’ and senior executives’ names followed by “sucks” and “blows”.
For example, the company registered a number of domains for CEO Brian Moynihan:
BrianMoynihanBlows.com, BrianMoynihanSucks.com, BrianTMoynihanBlows.com, and BrianTMoynihanSucks.com. Just to be sure, it also picked up the .net version of these names and some .orgs as well.
I count hundreds of such domain name registrations on December 17 alone. They were registered through an intermediary that frequently registers domain names on behalf of large companies.
Some of the other names are for CFO Charles Noski, Chairman of the Board
Charles Holliday, and board member Charles Rossotti (who is also Senior Advisor, The Carlyle Group).

Zumindest wirkt BoA damit nicht unbedingt den Gerüchten entgegen, daß sie das Ziel der nächsten Wikileaks sein könnte.

Forza Italia! Gelder von Bank of America beschlagnahmt
Die italienische Finanzpolizei rächt sich dafür, von den Amies zu den "PIIGS" gezählt zu werden:

Feb. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Italy’s financial police are seizing 73.3 million euros ($102 million) of assets from Bank of America Corp. and a unit of Dexia SA as part of a probe into an alleged derivatives fraud in the region of Apulia.
The police are sequestering a further 30 million euros that the municipality was set to place in a fund managed by the banks on Feb. 6, according to an e-mail from the prosecutor’s office in Bari today. The prosecutor also asked that Charlotte, North Carolina-based Bank of America be banned from doing business with Italian municipalities for two years. A hearing is slated for next month.
Prosecutors allege that when the banks arranged swaps and created a fund that invests money the region set aside to repay 870 million euros of borrowings due in 2023, they misled the region about the economic advantage of the package. Banks skewed the swaps to their advantage to hide fees, the prosecutor said.
Apulia, located in the heel of Italy, joins more than 519 municipalities that face 990 million euros in derivatives losses, according to data compiled by the Bank of Italy. In Milan, prosecutors seized assets from four banks including JPMorgan Chase & Co. and UBS AG and requested they stand trial for alleged fraud. Hearings started in Milan this month..."

Obamaggedon für die Gottspieler?
Die Spekulationen überschlagen sich und laden zu drolligen Überschriften ein...
Der Artikel untersucht den Einfluß des "Proprietary Trading", des Eigenhandels für das eigene Buch, auf die Einnahmesituation und den Gewinn von Firmen wie Bank of Amerika und Goldman Sachs. Letztere haben über ihren Sprecher Lucas van Praag (kann man sich gut über "to brag" merken) verlauten lassen, daß GS nur 10% seiner Einkünfte über "Prop Trading" generiert. Nun will das Team von Zerohedge herausgefunden haben, daß dieser Handel bei BoA aber 45% der Nachsteuergewinne darstellt, obwohl die Brutto-Einnahmen sogar nur unter 10% ausmachen. Tja, es ist halt auch sehr profitabel, Casino-Spieler UND Croupier gleichzeitig zu sein...oder sich mit ihm eben "verdammt gut zu verstehen"...Dann sind die Jettons ja schließlich nahezu kostenlos...und Freund Croupier blinzelt einem schonmal zu, wo man am besten setzen muß...
